Water Reservoirs
A water basin or reservoir is an artificial hydraulic structure located outside the riverbed (to differentiate them from dams) and delimited, totally or partially, by a retention dyke. Its applications can be Irrigation, Surface Water Collection, Storage and Distribution.
Guaranteeing its watertightness requires correct installation and the use of the appropriate geosynthetic materials for each case, considering the type of terrain, the elements that make them up, geometric requirements for the slope inclination and height, minimum widths of the upper road for anchoring, compliance with the flatness and compactness of the supporting soils, drainage system, etc.
